Some organisations who deliver environmental services claim environmental credentials because of the work they do. At Bookmysurvey Ltd we're a little different.
Yes we're proud of the 35,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide that are saved every year as a result of the work we do, but we fully understand the impact on the environment that running a business that covers the whole of
the UK, visiting thousands of homes every year has.
As a result of this awareness Bookmysurvey Ltd is committed to the following actions to reduce the impact their business directly has on the environment while growing the business to ensure that thousands more
homes can benefit from carbon dioxide savings.
We commit to:
- Complying with legal & other requirements to which the business subscribes including the international standard ISO 14001.
- Keeping appointments for surveys and meetings within close proximity to reduce travelling emissions.
- Work with sub contractors to help them reduce their emissions.
- Monitoring our utility usage every month, train and encourage staff to carefully consider their use of utilities every day.
- Reduce the environmental impact of our communications by examining carbon neutral options.
- Ensure that staff are fully involved in measures taken to reduce the environmental impact of Bookmysurvey Ltd.
We aim to:
- Achieve environmental accreditation within the 2009/10 financial year.
- Replace company vehicles with G whiz electric cars as soon as contractually viable.
- Work with our suppliers to encourage them to go down the environmental accreditation route.
- Where possible refer customers to the Energy Saving Trust advice centre in their area to ensure a continued carbon saving journey.
- Identify whole life environmental impact of all materials associated with delivering our business.
To help us realise our commitments we will:
- Commit to achieving measurable continuous improvement through our environmental management programme.
- Provide the appropriate resources including training of staff to ensure they are environmentally responsible.
- Review and set objectives/targets on an annual basis ensuring they are measurable and achievable.
- Monitor performance through the internal audit process.
- Communicate and reinforce this policy throughout the organisation through the use of notice boards, induction training and on-going training.
- Make this policy available to the public.
- Display this policy throughout our business.
Reducing the carbon footprint of Bookmysurvey Ltd comprises a major part of our development for the future. It is inevitable that in visiting homes there will be some carbon dioxide emissions, however, all of the
staff are committed to making this impact as low as possible and to pass on good practice to suppliers where possible to achieve greater savings.
